Peter Deilmann Cruises brought to you by Cruise Marketplace, pioneered the luxury river cruise industry. In 1987, after many years of operating freighters, Peter Deilmann moved into the passenger ship market. Peter Deilmann Cruises was first to design and build river boats that reflected the style and luxury amenities of larger oceangoing cruise ships. The river fleet grew into the 90's with brand-new boats as well as a number of "nearly new" river boats obtained from competitors. In the mid 1990's, Peter Deilman Cruises expanded, launching it's ocean-going fleet with the Lili Marleen in 1994 and the 513-passenger Deutschland in 1998.
With over 270 departures on Europe river itineraries, Peter Deilmann Cruises offers river tours ranging in length from 7 to 17 nights sailing between late March and early November, while the Deutschland offers cruises to Northern Europe from German ports in the summer and to other destinations worldwide during the rest of the year. There are theme cruises featuring golf cruises on the Seine, Rhone and Danube; theme cruises featuring countryside cycling on cruises on the Danube, Seine, Rhone and Elbe in France, Germany, Austria and Hungary; and theme-music cruises on the Danube and Seine. Other theme cruises allow travelers to book garden cruises on sailings on the Rhone, Seine, Rhine and Danube and new hiking theme-cruises on the Princesse de Provence on the Rhone. The ms Deutschland has a wide range of themed ocean cruises, from golf and gardening to the Finnish Tango.
The Peter Deilmann fleet consists of elegantly furnished riverboats to navigate the greatest rivers of Europe. The Peter Deilmann riverboats offer panoramic dining rooms and lounges, gift shops, spacious sun decks, and an facilities for medical care with a qualified doctor onboard every sailing. All but very few cabins in the fleet are outside cabins, and many offer balconies.
The most recent addition to the Peter Deilmann fleet is the 110-passenger Heidelberg. Launched in the spring of 2004, the Heidelberg offers spacious 190 sq. ft. cabins and included in the ship's facilities are a fitness center and spa with sauna, steam room and massage facilities.
Recently refurbished in 2003, the five-star Mozart, built in 1987, is the flagship of the Peter Deilmann fleet. The 200-passenger Mozart features an indoor pool, solarium, sauna and fitness center, and can claim to have the roomiest cabins of any riverboat at 203 square feet, as well as the largest suites at 406 square feet. It would be difficult to imagine a better choice to appreciate the beauty of the Danube than Peter Deilmann's Mozart. The Mozart provides many of the amenities of a larger cruise liner, including a panoramic lounge, an indoor pool and exercise room, a library and a roomy top sun deck with its own bar. Cabins measure an impressive 203 square ft., the largest of any river ship.
Peter Deilmann Cruises operates two boats in France. The first is the five-star, 100-passenger Cezanne, built in 1993 and purchased in the year 2000. Completely refurbished, its cabins measure 162 to 178 square feet and upper deck cabins have French balconies. While the Peter Deilmann Cezanne navigates the Seine River in the north of France, the slightly larger Princesse de Provence's navigates the Rhone and Saone Rivers in the south of France. The Princess de Provence was built in 1992 and most recently refurbished in 2004. All cabins on the Peter Deilmann Princess de Provence are 128 square ft.
